The 2016 online annual report for Auckland International Airport freshens up a cost-effective approach that we first introduced in 2013.

The ephemeral nature of annual reports means a careful balance between cost and audience expectation in this increasingly online world.

One solution is to create a formula and then update it gradually over time rather than consider the task from scratch every six months. 

The 2016 online annual report took this incremental improvement approach, but added a strongly visual story-telling front end in their 50th year on the Mangere site.

The site is mobile device optimised, making intelligent use of swipe gestures to aid navigation. And performance data is brought to life through simple but effective animation of highlights.
